This is my go to brown bread recipe, it works every time, and pretty much everybody who has some loves it, I will quite often get requests to bake it in advance of visitors arriving. I use pumpkin seeds and linseeds (flax seeds) because I like them, I have also used sunflower seeds, this can make a slightly heavier loaf but add a nice flavour.
‘Best Sandwiches in Dorset!’
Its a quick bake (1 hour 55 Minutes, as I always use a Panasonic bread maker on the rapid programme) but it still has a good rise and is easy to slice.
As with most bread machine recipes this never fail, rapid bake, seeded brown bread is pretty straight forward to produce, simply add the following ingredients in the order below.
Ingredients in order of adding to the pan:
2 tsp dried bakers yeast (I use Doves Farm quick yeast)
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp granulated white sugar (I have also successfully used raw coconut sugar)
50g cooking oil, I use rapeseed (canola) oil.
40g pumpkin seeds
340g warm water (approx. 40 deg. C)
Set your bread machine to rapid bake and return to a lovely fresh loaf in less than 2 hours!
